From a press release:

The annual Montrose Chocolate & Wine Festival will be celebrating its 10th year on Saturday, May 20. The historic town of Montrose is host to the only wine and chocolate festival in Susquehanna County, running from 2:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Regional wineries, numerous vendors, and local businesses will give visitors an opportunity to taste and purchase wines and gourmet chocolates, all from one location on Chestnut Street. Great music, arts and crafts, home wine-making demonstrations, and food and chocolate candy samples make a perfect backdrop for wine, wine, and more wine.

The concept of a community chocolate festival began with a dream shared between the creative and motivated individuals in Montrose to offer a new weekend event. During 2007, several Susquehanna County wineries began to present chocolate truffles by Chocolates by Leopold flavored by their best wines. This classic pairing of chocolate and wine encouraged the inclusion of wine in the festival.

This year’s musical lineup features folk, rock, country, and blues tunes from Driftwood, Woodshed Prophets, The Bones of J.R. Jones, and Canary Circus.

Proceeds from the ticket sales, as well as donations, will be presented to various Montrose community projects and nonprofits, such as the Susquehanna County Library, Endless Mountains Health Systems, and the Healthy Snack Program.
