NEPA Design Collective throws bowling fundraiser at Idle Hour Lanes in Dickson City on March 18
The NEPA Design Collective, a new group formed to build and support a community of Northeastern Pennsylvania-based designers, creatives, and makers, will be holding their first fundraiser, a bowling event called Rise & Bowl, on Saturday, March 18.
Registration at Idle Hour Lanes (2008 Scranton Carbondale Hwy., Dickson City) is at 11:30 a.m., and supporters can bowl from noon through 2 p.m.
Tickets are $15 per person and include two hours of bowling and shoe rental. Tickets must be purchased from an NDC member ahead of time so lane assignments can be made prior to the event, so those interested can message them through their Facebook page. They are also seeking lane sponsorships from local businesses.
“Who doesn’t love bowling? For our first NDC fundraiser, we wanted to put on an event that not only encouraged our members to come out and have fun but also allowed friends and family a chance to get involved. In addition to selling tickets, local businesses can get involved via lane sponsorships,” NDC founder Gary Irwin told NEPA Scene.
“When I founded the NDC, I felt it was key to keep the collective free to join, so events like this allow us to offer up field trips, speakers, etc., without charging any kind of membership fee.”
Through monthly meetings, design events, and group shows, the NDC encourages its members to get out from behind their computers and be an active part of the design community.
