From a press release:

Back in 2012, Anthrax, one of the legendary Big Four thrash bands, played at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton. Five years later, fans of vocalist Joey Belladonna can see him perform in a much more intimate space just seven miles away.

Belladonna’s side project, a classic rock cover band called Chief Big Way, will pack the Irish Wolf Pub in downtown Scranton on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. with local opening acts Kids Laughing at Pedestrians and Reach for the Sky, a Social Distortion tribute band.

Tickets, which are $20 in advance at the pub or $22 online via Eventbrite, can be purchased at the door. For more information, see the Facebook event page.

When not touring the world as the lead singer of Anthrax, Joey Belladonna brings his passion for music to the people of his hometown area in Central New York with Chief Big Way. The four-time Grammy Award nominee has been featured on over 12 albums and sold over eight million records. He was voted No. 20 in a list of the 50 the best metal frontmen of all time by Metal Edge Magazine and is a part of the Big Four with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth, playing to sold-out crowds at Yankee Stadium and the Sonisphere festivals in Europe and Australia. He has performed the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden, the Minnesota Viking’s Metrodome, and at the United Center for the Chicago Bulls.

Belladonna has shared stages with Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Alice in Chains, Dio, Public Enemy, Living Color, Primus, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Testament, Overkill, Exodus, Helloween, Rob Zombie, Judas Priest, and many others. In the mid to late ’90s, he released his first two solo albums with great press and reviews from around the world.

With Belladonna’s world-class pipes and rock-solid drumming, Chief Big Way performs a cornucopia of classic rock, covering artists ranging from Black Sabbath to Collective Soul, from Cream to the Eagles, and from the Stones to Skynyrd. Accompanied by guitarist Joe Precourt, bassist Dave Mickelson, keyboardist John Goodwin, and back-up guitarist Greg Carroll, he enjoys sharing his love of music through Chief Big Way.
