With four frightening horror attractions spread over 65 acres in Scranton, delivering 90 minutes of terrifying entertainment to thousands of people, the cost to run and maintain Reaper’s Revenge Haunted Attraction, dubbed “America’s best haunted attraction,” every fall must be pretty high.

To raise funds for the attraction’s talented makeup team, whose work seems to get gorier and more detailed every year, they’re hosting a “Halfway to Halloween Hullabaloo” at The Leonard Theater in downtown Scranton on Saturday, April 29 from 8 p.m. through 2 a.m.

Costumes are optional at this 21+ dance party, though they’re certainly encouraged. If you don’t have one hanging in your closet from Halloweens past, the Reaper’s makeup crew will be on hand to transform you into a zombie, undead clown, or any other creature of the night. A costume contest will be part of the festivities, with awards given for the best outfits. You can also win tickets to this year’s attraction, among other giveaways.

Emceed by K-One with music played by DJs Royce and Hostyle, the party at The Leonard (335 Adams Ave., Scranton) will feature drinks, photo ops with the cast, props from Reapers Revenge and, of course, the Reaper Hearse. Hopefully, they’ll be serving more of that lovely head cheese that they brought to the Steamtown Music Awards last year:

Northeastern Pennsylvania-based Nuclearbane Clothing, a brand for “freaks, geeks, and outcasts in the streets,” will also be there to sell some shirts and give a few away.

The cost is only $5 at the door with proper ID, so if you’re one of those people who wishes Halloween was celebrated more than just once a year, this is an event created just for you.
