Local fans of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” won’t have to wait until October to see the cult film on the big screen again – the Sweet Translucent Dreams shadow cast, who regularly perform in Bethlehem and Emmaus, will bring their live show to the Circle Drive-In Theatre in Dickson City on Saturday, July 22.

The interactive performance, which takes place in front of the screen while the movie is playing as the audience joins in, was originally scheduled for June 23 but was canceled due to inclement weather.

A pre-show begins at 11:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 12:01 a.m. Tickets are $8 per person, and prop bags with toilet paper, rice, party popper, and cards will be on sale for $1, or patrons can bring your own props. Sweet Translucent Dreams t-shirts will be available for $10 each.

In addition to the Circle Drive-In (1911 Scranton Carbondale Hwy., Dickson City), the group has shows coming up at the Emmaus Theater on Saturday, July 15 and the ArtsQuest Center at the SteelStacks on Friday, July 28, which they consider their “home,” performing at the Bethlehem venue on the last Friday of every month.

Sweet Translucent Dreams has been a “Rocky Horror” shadow cast for 15 years, performing in theaters, fire halls, bowling alleys, bars, colleges, churches, drive-ins, and outdoors across Pennsylvania since 2002. While going through various iterations over the years, adding members from other shadow casts while recruiting new actors, the group is still going strong as they play to hundreds and even thousands of midnight movie fans a year.
