Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit for more information.

Karma is a 3-year-old boxer mix.

This sweet girl was found during the Texas floods and was never claimed. Karma and her pups traveled to West Virginia, where all of her pups but one were adopted! Now that she’s out of a kill shelter and all of her babies are in their forever homes, it’s Karma’s turn!

She loves other dogs and all people – she’s even great with children! Karma loves to go for walks and to go running around the park, so a fenced-in yard would be best for her.

Come and meet this cutie today!

Bixby is 6 months old and will melt your heart. How can you not fall in love with this cross-eyed little guy?

Bixby has medium hair and is a little shy at first, but he warms up to people quickly. He likes other cats but not dogs. Bixby would do best in a quiet home.

If you’re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
