SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Izzy (Saint Bernard) and Juno (black kitten)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Izzy is a big 1-and-a-half-year-old Saint Bernard – 120 pounds of pure love and drool.
This girl had a very tough start. Her original owner kept her outside on concrete and would often tase her when she would bark or misbehave.
Izzy has spent the last few months surrounded by love in a home but, unfortunately, their busy lifestyle does not allow them to give Izzy the time and training she needs. They worked extremely hard with her, though, and have done nothing but benefit her. She has come even farther since being at Blue Chip. While typically not good with other animals, she met a Newfoundland recently and played well with him. We think she is large dog selective and may like having another St. Bernard for a friend.
Izzy needs a home with a large fenced-in yard. She would do better with older children and is weary of strangers, so a proper introduction is required for new people.
She is very sweet and thinks she’s a lap dog despite her size. She loves going for walks in the park and playing tug of war.

Juno is a stunning 4-month-old black shorthair kitten with green eyes who is current on his vaccinations.
He is sleek and knows just how handsome he is… especially when he enters a room looking for attention. This looker loves to play, explore under chairs and couches, and curl up by his human for a nap.
