Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

River

River is a 3-year-old pit bull mix who is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped.

River’s mom was recently placed into a nursing home, so she needs a new home. She is as sweet as can be, adoring everyone she meets. She has lived with cats and gets along with most other dogs. She has never lived with kids, but we believe she would do well with older kids due to her loving personality.

River is extremely affectionate and loves to be near people. She enjoys being active but can also be a couch potato.

She is tinier than she initially appears, as you can see in the second photo with a volunteer holding her. Oh yeah – she loves to be held.

Fill out an application and come meet this sweet girl!

Tiny

Tiny is a 6-year-old domestic shorthair who is the cat for all seasons, so to speak.

She loves to be by you, but she is OK when you are not around. She loves to play but also loves to observe or even nap.

Easygoing and friendly, Tiny is used to being the one and only and would do best in a quiet home. She is the perfect lap cat and will curl right up with you for pets.

If you’re interested in adopting Tiny, please note that she is living in a foster home, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
