SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Chopper (German shepherd mix) and Eddie (tuxedo kitten)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.
Chopper is a 4-year-old German shepherd mix who needs a little extra love.
While he is a smart and affectionate pooch, Chopper is insecure and needs time to warm up and accept you. He needs an adult-only home with someone who understands the bonding process and will work with him on his trust issues. He should be the only pet and shouldn’t be exposed to strangers until he is ready to make that step.
With all this understood, Chopper will make a great companion, as he loyal and loving once that bond has been made. He would love a single guy who likes being active and having a best friend to hang out with.
His special talent is playing ball. Chopper is an amazing shortstop and returns the ball to home base with amazing precision.
He is a big ball of energy. After a walk and a trip to the park, he will be your best buddy!
Eddie is an 8-month-old black and white tuxedo kitten.
This handsome little guy is lovable, affectionate, and ready for his forever home.
If you’re interested in adopting sweet Eddie, please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
