Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Pete

Pete is a 5-year-old coonhound who will melt your heart with his big brown eyes.

Pete is very active and a great listener. He is good with other dogs, though he has food aggression. If this is handled correctly, he does not cause issues.

He needs an adult-only home where he can run around the yard and play. Is that your home?

Arthur

Arthur is a handsome 2-year-old Maine Coon mix who knows he’s the cat’s meow!

He has long, thick hair and is going to require grooming. Arthur likes to be brushed and enjoys attention.

He is a big, laidback guy and is OK with other cats if he’s properly introduced. He is not a fan of dogs and would do best in a quiet home with older children.

If you would like to adopt this debonair furball, please note that he is in a foster home, not at the shelter, so fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
