SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Jax (pit bull mix) and Gia and Gemma (bonded gray cats)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.
Jax is a 1-and-a-half-year-old pit bull mix.
He is nervous when he first meets new people, but he’s a total love bug once he gets a few treats. Jax needs a home without cats or kids, as he is anxious around small children. He is good with most other female and submissive male dogs.
Jax loves car rides, walks, and toys. He would do best with a fenced-in yard so he can run and play.
Come and meet this good boy!
Gia and Gemma are so adorable! This bonded duo is only 9 months old, spayed, and up-to-date on their vaccinations. They must be adopted together.
They are shy, so it takes them a bit to warm up to you, but they are sweet and affectionate. These two beauties like other cats but not dogs. Gia and Gemma would do best in a quiet home.
If you’re interested in adopting these best friends, please note that they are staying in a foster home, not at the shelter, so fill out an adoption application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
