From a press release:

With its lineup in place last month, the Lackawanna Music Festival announced the set times of its inaugural event today exclusively on NEPA Scene.

The all-ages music festival will feature both local and national bands that span multiple musical genres, including Kulick, Young Thieves, Black Tie Stereo, and Lucas Hex on Day 1 and Strength for a Reason, Graces Downfall, Koji, and GutterLIFE on Day 2.

Organized by the same team behind the annual Electric City Music Conference and the Steamtown Music Awards, Lackawanna Music Fest will be held on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8 at Back Breakers in Scranton. Doors will open at 11 a.m., and the first bands will take the stage at noon. An official afterparty will be held at the Irish Wolf Pub (503 Linden St., Scranton) on July 7.

“We identified a need for a single-venue, all-day, all-age music festival in Scranton. Years ago, I had great success producing local festivals, such as Big Giant and the Extravaganza and the Heart-On Festival. We’re hoping to duplicate that success with the Lackawanna Music Festival,” explained co-organizer Joe Caviston.

“If things go well, we’ll be back again next year.”

Single day passes to the first-ever music festival at Back Breakers (1008 N. Washington Ave., Scranton) are available in advance for $15 and will increase to $20 on the day of the show. Tickets for Day 1 are available via Eventbrite here, and tickets for Day 2 can be purchased here. Special two-day discount passes, limited to only 100, are also available here.

Located just on the outskirts of the downtown area, Back Breakers Training Center (1008 N. Washington Ave., Scranton) trains wrestlers in a 16×16-foot ring and hosts wrestling seminars and related events. In addition to the ring, lounge area, weight room, and locker room, the building now has an upstairs lounge for live music, kicking off with shows in March.

“Bands like Graces Downfall and Behind the Grey don’t get to play all-ages shows very often. We [Graces Downfall] are going to play over 150 shows this year and maybe three of them are all-ages, so I think this gives us an opportunity to get in front of a fresh audience. We’re excited,” noted co-organizer and Graces Downfall frontman Ken Norton.
