Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Pappy and Candy

These two adorable senior Shih Tzus need a forever home to live out their golden years.

Pappy and Candy are 11 years old. Pappy is partially blind and Candy is completely blind, but you would never know it with their bouncy personalities.

Pappy is very calm. She is a cuddler and would love a warm lap to lie on. She does not really like walks; she would much rather sleep and cuddle. She craves human attention and would do best in a quiet home.

Candy is more energetic and has quite a goofy personality that will make you laugh. She is a talker who often demands treats and loves going for walks. She would do well in a semi-active home with lots of love and food.

Both would prefer no young children (under 10) due to their ages. They both get along with other dogs but will let them know when they want their own space. These girls are not bonded, so they can be adopted separately.

Adopt a senior! They are wonderful dogs.

Dale

Dale is a 4-year-old striped gray tabby cat.

He is a sweet and laid-back lap cat. He likes other cats but is not a fan of dogs.

If you are interested in adopting this guy, please note that he is living in a foster home, not on the Blue Chip campus, so fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
