SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Jack (beagle mix) and Poppy (tortoiseshell cat)

Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Our boy Jack is a 2-year-old beagle mix who would love to meet you!
He is very playful and intelligent. He enjoys being brushed, going for walks and runs, and meeting new friends. He gets along really well with other dogs.
Jack is looking for a home with previous dog experience. He needs a strong owner who is able to take on the leader role and work with him on training.
He has been at the shelter far too long and could be a really great dog for someone willing to put in the work.
If you’re interested in meeting Jack, call 570-333-5265 and fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org.

Poppy is a beautiful 8-month-old tortoiseshell cat who would make the purrrfect companion.
She is lovable, affectionate, curious, and wonderful to be around. This tortie loves to play, cuddle, and hang out with people. She is very social and enjoys attention.
Poppy adjusts quickly to new environments, but she is getting lonely in her foster home because she has to be kept away from the dogs, who are not cat-friendly.
If you would like to adopt this sweet girl and give her all the love that she deserves, fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
