Following the biggest turnout for the Steamtown Music Awards yet, the fifth annual Electric City Music Conference took over 13 venues across the Scranton area for the most massive weekend in local music on Friday, Sept. 14 and Saturday, Sept. 15.

Lineups featuring over 150 local and national acts in countless genres played in returning venues like Backyard Ale House, The Bog, the Irish Wolf Pub, The Keys, the New Penny Lounge, Thirst T’s Bar & Grill, and The V-Spot and six new venues this year – Ale Mary’s, The Brew House and Back Room Bar, Club Vibe, Crotti’s on Ash, Harry’s, and Peculiar Slurp Shop.

Highlights included the reunion and farewell show for Scranton indie rockers Blinded Passenger (seen in the video below), Scranton grunge rock band Graces Downfall celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their debut album with original members, and the Screaming Infidelities: Emo Night with DJ Hersh and ECMC co-organizer Joe Caviston packing The Bog to capacity (also seen below):

On Sept. 15, Northeast Music Center in Dickson City also hosted this year’s informative panels and mentoring sessions for local musicians with Big D and the Kids Table singer Dave McWane; The Strange and Unusual owner Josh Balz, a musician and former member of Motionless In White; radio personality and former Breaking Benjamin manager Freddie Fabbri; Word Is Bond talent managers Mark Woodbridge and Erick Droegmoeller; and Artery Global booking agents Sean Mott and Joey Lanzillotto. NEPA Scene live streamed all the panels and several live sets in different venues throughout the weekend.
