SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Nicky (bulldog mix) and Heather (gray and white cat)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Nicky is a 5-year-old American bulldog mix who was brought back to the shelter through no fault of his own.
He loves all people and has the wiggliest butt. He enjoys going for walks and runs but also likes sleeping on the couch for as long as possible. He is a bundle of love who just needs a family to keep him forever.
Nicky is very energetic, so he would love a family who is active. He has been around teenagers but not younger children. He is dog selective, seeming to like females more.
He came to Blue Chip as a stray but has never feared anything. He is a volunteer favorite and everyone is heartbroken to see him back here.

Heather is a 3-year-old gray and white cat.
She is sweet with a little sass. Heather is vocal and likes to say what is on her mind.
She likes the company of other cats but also enjoys keeping all the attention to herself.
