Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Pete

Pete is all dressed up and ready to go home for the holidays! This handsome 6-year-old coonhound has been with Blue Chip for around a year now and is eager to find his forever family.

He is a goofy, fun-loving boy with long legs and huge ears who loves playing outside and going for walks in the park. He enjoys running around to burn off energy but equally loves being a couch potato.

Pete is very well-behaved, knows different commands, and is treat motivated.

He loves other dogs and previously lived in a home with multiple dogs of all sizes. Pete does have food aggression around other dogs and if you try to take his food from him. He would do best in an adult-only home with no small children.

Come meet this happy guy and you’ll want to make him a part of your happy family!

Max

Max is a 3-year-old handsome black and white cat.

He is a sweet, affectionate, and lovable lap cat. This laidback guy likes the company of other cats but not dogs.

Max would be a great companion for someone looking for a best buddy.

If you would like to adopt him, fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 to arrange a meet and greet.
