From a press release:

This week, it was announced that singer/songwriter Lacey Sturm, best known as the founding vocalist of platinum-selling hard rock band Flyleaf, has been added to the Smith & Myers concert at the Circle Drive-In Theatre in Dickson City on Friday, Sept. 18.

“We’re back!” Sturm posted on social media. “Looking forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces… and headlights.”

Smith & Myers features Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers of multi-platinum rock band Shinedown as an acoustic duo. Presented locally by Stage West in Scranton, Drusky Entertainment, 97.9X, and SLP Concerts, Smith & Myers are hitting the road for some in-person drive-in concerts in place of Shinedown’s Deep Dive Tour, which has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Deep Dive Tour would have seen the full band diving into their extensive catalog to perform an array of deep cuts and B-sides along with their biggest hits, with stops planned in Memphis, Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Musikfest in Bethlehem. The Musikfest headlining slot has been rescheduled to Monday, Aug. 9, 2021.

Gates at the Circle Drive-In (1911 Scranton/Carbondale Hwy., Dickson City) open at 6 p.m., and the all-ages show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets, which are $199 per vehicle for general admission (up to four guests max), are on sale now on ticketmaster.com.

No campers, RVs, party buses, or motorcycles are admitted. Sealed water bottles are allowed. Food and beverages (alcohol included) will be available for purchase. Sitting outside your vehicle is permitted, but all attendees must arrive together and remain near their car. For more details, visit the Facebook event page.

The Circle Drive-In is following Department of Health recommendations and “adhering to safety protocols, mandatory face covering requirements, social distancing, and strict disinfecting and cleaning procedures.” Restrooms will be open with attendants on-site.

Anyone attending a drive-in movie or event must wear a face covering and practice social distancing. The concession stand will have limited selections and has put extra safety procedures in place.

In 2002, Lacey Sturm co-founded Flyleaf and led the rock band to international success as its frontwoman. The band’s single “All Around Me” went platinum, soaring to the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and earning recognition as an award-winning song at the 2009 BMI Pop Awards. “All Around Me” was one of many successful Flyleaf songs as numerous other singles landed on Billboard’s Alternative, Rock, and Christian charts.

Sturm left Flyleaf in 2012 to focus on a solo career and has had success outside of the band, including performing on Christian rock band Third Day’s single “Born Again,” which received Grammy nominations for Best Gospel Song and Best Gospel Performance, and which Billboard acclaimed Sturm’s vocal performance to be “gorgeous.” Sturm’s song “Heavy Prey” featuring Geno Lenardo appeared on the soundtrack for the 2012 major motion picture “Underworld: Awakening.”

In early 2016, Sturm released her stunning solo debut “Life Screams.” The self-produced collection debuted exclusively on Sirius XM’s “Octane” and helped launch the album to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart, marking the first time a solo woman topped the illusive chart. In 201, she published her autobiography, “The Reason: How I Discovered a Life Worth Living,” and followed it up with a second book in 2016, “The Mystery: Finding Love in a World of Broken Lovers.”

Earlier this year, she appeared as a guest vocalist on Wilkes-Barre rock band Breaking Benjamin’s new album “Aurora,” which features reimagined versions of some the band’s biggest and most popular songs. She sang “Dear Agony” with vocalist Benjamin Burnley and appeared in the music video.

In January, Shinedown has notched their 16th No. 1 single on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart and their 15th No. 1 single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs Chart with their hit song “Attention Attention.” The band has now tied the record for the most No. 1s ever on both of these charts.

“Attention Attention” is their fifth consecutive No. 1, following “How Did You Love” from their 2015 album “Threat to Survival” and “Devil,” “Get Up,” and “Monsters” from their latest critically acclaimed studio album “Attention Attention” (Atlantic Records), which simultaneously hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative, Top Rock, and Hard Rock Albums charts and debuted Top 5 on the Billboard 200. Shinedown has amassed over 2.4 billion collective track streams and has racked up 324 million global streams for “Attention Attention.”

Every one of Shinedown’s 26 consecutive singles has reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart – an unparalleled achievement – and they continue to hold the record for the most Top 5s ever on this chart. “Attention Attention” also ties the band for the second most Top 10s ever on this chart. Additionally, “Devil” was certified gold by the RIAA.

The multi-platinum, record-breaking band – Brent Smith (vocals), Zach Myers (guitar), Eric Bass (bass, production), and Barry Kerch (drums) – has sold more than 10 million albums and 10 million singles worldwide, earned 14 platinum and gold singles, five platinum and one gold album, 16 No. 1 active rock hits, and amassed more than 2.4 billion total streams.

The story that unfolds on their latest album is an enduring statement about the resolve of the human spirit, touching on themes such as mental health, overcoming struggles, and not being afraid to fail and the importance of our human connection with one another. Speaking to the human spirit in a time of need, “Get Up” quickly became a crossover hit and a beacon of light for listeners around the globe with its urgent and universal message of hope, empathy, and encouragement. The album has received major media acclaim from the likes of “Live with Kelly & Ryan,” Huffington Post, Forbes, Salon, Billboard, Consequence of Sound, Buzzfeed, Grammy.com, Parade, Popdust, and more, landing the band a slot in 92Y’s prestigious talk series “92Y Talks.”

Shinedown’s distinct mix of explosive rock ‘n’ roll spirit, thought-provoking lyrics, melodic sensibility, and cinematic flourishes colors “Attention Attention.” Hailed for their high-octane live shows, they continue to engender diehard love from millions of global fans and rack up countless sold-out tours and festival headlining sets, propelled by their world-class showmanship and the undeniable power of frontman Brent Smith’s voice.
