RiffTrax carves up cheesy horror movie ‘Jack-O’ in NEPA movie theaters on Oct. 21

From a press release:
The hilarious RiffTrax guys – Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” fame – are back in select movie theaters to take a few funny stabs at a cheesy ’90s slasher, just in time for Halloween.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., they gives their comedic riffing treatment to the 1995 low-budget horror film “Jack-O.” An evil warlock, Jack the Pumpkin Man, rises from the grave to seek revenge on the descendants of the man who put him there years ago. What follows is a campy Halloween night rampage as Mr. Jack terrorizes the town to get his vengeance. The trio serve as comedy guides to this fun B-movie and lead off by riffing a silly Halloween safety short.
The special screening will be presented in select movie theaters through Fathom Events’ Digital Broadcast Network, including Cinemark 20 and XD (40 Glenmaura National Blvd., Moosic), R/C Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 (24 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre), and Cinemark Stroud Mall and XD (160 Stroud Mall, Stroudsburg).
Tickets can be purchased online by visiting fathomevents.com or at participating theater box offices.
RiffTrax makes movies funny in a variety of different ways. For blockbuster movies, fans can play their funny commentaries along with DVDs or stream them using the RiffTrax auto-syncing app. For most films, they are merged with the movie and classic shorts, which can be downloaded or watched as on-demand streaming videos. Sold on DVD and Blu-ray, these movies can also be found on Amazon Prime, Twitch, and Pluto.tv.
Written and performed by the stars of the Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award-winning “Mystery Science Theater 3000,” RiffTrax features the unique humor of Michael J. Nelson (Mike Nelson), Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo), and Bill Corbett (Crow T. Robot), along with tons of special guest riffers.
Since 2009, RiffTrax has held semi-regular, in-theater special events called RiffTrax Live. Filmed in front of a live audience and simulcast to over 700 cinema screens all over the country by Fathom Events, they’ve broadcast from San Diego, California; Nashville, Tennessee; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Durham, North Carolina. Some of the most popular titles in the RiffTrax Live lineup include the “MST3K Reunion Show,” “Carnival of Souls,” and “Starship Troopers.”
