The Electric City Music Conference has officially announced the full schedule for its 12th annual event, set to take place from Thursday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Sept. 13.

The weekend promises an immersive celebration of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s vibrant music scene, featuring an awards show, free educational panels for artists, unique “Side Quest” events, and a multi-venue music festival showcasing over 70 local and regional acts.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, Sept. 11 with the 12th annual Steamtown Music Awards at The V-Spot in Scranton. Dubbed “NEPA’s biggest night in music,” the ceremony will feature a red carpet entrance, live performances, and the presentation of over 35 awards.

This year, the SMAs will honor two local legends with Lifetime Achievement Awards: beloved radio personality Rocky Rhodes for his four-decade career on the airwaves and the late, revered sound engineer John “Stu” Sanderson, who will be recognized posthumously for his invaluable contributions to the live music community.

On Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 13, the conference will host a series of free educational panels at The V-Spot, open to all musicians and the public. These panels provide artists direct access to industry experts on topics ranging from media relations and booking to financial planning and content creation. Featured speakers include Josh Balz (former keyboardist of Motionless In White and owner of The Ritz Theater in Scranton), renowned Philadelphia DJ Sat-One, and experts from Stage West in State College, Matt Kester Productions, NEPA Scene, and more.

In addition to the core events, the ECMC introduces two new “Side Quest” events this year. On Friday, the Electric City Day Party, an EDM showcase presented by 570 Soundz, will take over Solstice Bar and Grill in Scranton. Concurrently, the conference has partnered with Black & Brass Coffee Roasting Company for free, intimate unplugged performances on both Friday and Saturday afternoon.

The weekend culminates in the music festival, with performances running across seven Scranton venues on Friday and Saturday. Participating venues include Backyard Ale House, The Bog, Mutant Brewing, Sergei’s Live, The Shakes Space inside The Marketplace at Steamtown, Union Vapors 570, and The V-Spot.

“This year’s conference is our most ambitious yet,” said ECMC founder Joe Caviston.

“We’re not just putting on a music festival – we’re creating a comprehensive experience that supports, educates, and celebrates every facet of our incredible music scene. From honoring legends at the Steamtown Music Awards to providing invaluable career advice at the panels and showcasing dozens of amazing artists on stage, there is something for every music fan and creator in Scranton that weekend.”
