SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Brutus and Bet (beagles) and Major (tabby kitten)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features one dog, one cat, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food, and most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.
Bet and Brutus
Ladies and gentlemen… The Beagles!
Brutus is the black and tan dog and Bet is the smaller tri-color female. They are only a year old, and this brother and sister have been together since birth. Ideally, we would like to keep them together but will separate them for the right home. They are good with children and adults; they would make great family companions.
The beagles are in a foster home, so please call 570-333-5265 to schedule a meet and greet. The foster mom says they are great with her dogs!
This handsome little guy is still searching for his furever home. Major is 8 weeks old. He is one of the kittens found by the state police while searching an impounded car, featured in Shelter Sunday two weeks ago. Major and his littermates were bottle-fed from when they were days old.
Major is such a sweetheart and extremely friendly. He has two brothers that are still available as well. His other four littermates found families to call their own. If interested in Major or his brothers, please call 570-333-5265. The kittens are in foster homes, not at the shelter.
