From a press release:

A new photography exhibit highlighting art, architecture, and the beauty of “Dancers in the City” will debut during First Friday Scranton on Sept. 1 at Trinka’s Gallery & Artisan Gifts in downtown Scranton.

The exhibit features six dancers from Scranton Civic Ballet Company artfully posed at some of Scranton’s most noteworthy architectural gems, including the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple, the Albright Memorial Library, the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, City Hall, the Electric City sign at the Scranton Electric Building, the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Lake Scranton, the Everhart Museum, and the Scranton Civic Ballet Company.

“Dancers in the City” is the result of a collaboration between Julie Jordan Photography in Clarks Summit and Helen Gaus, artistic director of the Scranton Civic Ballet Company. Under the direction of Miss Helen, dancers created formations designed to inspire an appreciation of the many forms of beauty found in the Electric City.

As part of the festivities at Trinka’s Gallery & Artisan Gifts (523 Bogart Place, Scranton), dancers featured in the show will make a special appearance and perform a pas de deux (step by two) at 7 p.m. Aidan Jordan and Paul Scalese will provide musical entertainment, and appetizers and light refreshments will be served.

First Friday runs from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., and all in the community are invited to celebrate the arts at Bogart Place on a weekend of festivities in downtown Scranton that include La Festa Italiana.
