SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Jazz (pit bull mix) and Dennis (orange tabby)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.
Jazz is a pit bull mix around 2 years old. She was originally a stray and was never claimed, so we do not know much about her past. She recently had puppies, so we are assuming her owners no longer wanted her after that.
This sweet girl adores all people and craves attention. She is wonderful with kids of all ages. She is also crate trained and house trained but may need a refresher after shelter life. She is dog selective with dogs her size (she prefers calmer ones) and is not fond of little dogs, so she would do best living in a home with no other animals.
Jazz is great on a leash and in the car. She is a gentle and loving soul who loves to cuddle and be around people.
Please consider opening your heart and home to this happy lady!
Dennis is a 2-year-old orange and white tabby cat who is neutered and up-to-date on his shots.
This handsome guy enjoys fine cuisine and attests that tuna and ocean whitefish pâté are unbeatable. He enjoys cat tower climbing and listening to rock music, but his favorite activity is watching humans. He is also good with other cats.
If you’re interested in adopting Dennis, please fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org.
