If you ever hoped to be crowned King or Queen of Chips, your dreams may soon be realized.

Northeast Snacks has announced the world’s first Middleswarth Chip Eating Contest, where contestants will be challenged to eat the most amount of chips by weight in two minutes – you choose the flavor. The winner will receive an official Chip Champ trophy and a $50 Northeast Snacks gift certificate.

The contest will be held at the Northeast Snacks offices (67 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre) on Friday, Oct. 30. It is $10 to enter, and entries are limited to 20, so those interested in stuffing their faces with salty fried goodness should purchase tickets now from northeastsnacks.com.

100 percent of the entry fees will be donated to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, the animal rescue featured every week in NEPA Scene’s Shelter Sunday.
