From a press release:

With the summer blockbuster season now in full swing, friends of the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre will hold a 12-hour Marvel Madness Marathon starting at noon on Saturday, April 30. The marathon includes all the movies starring Captain America – “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Avengers,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” – leading up the next film in the Marvel franchise, “Captain America: Civil War.”

Attendees of the marathon will receive a voucher to see “Civil War” at R/C Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 when the film is released the following Thursday, May 5.

Tickets for the all-day event at the theater (537 N.Main St., Wilkes-Barre) are $25 and can be purchased via Eventbrite, at the door, or by calling 570-408-1741.

“The event, sponsored by R/C Theaters Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 and Tactical Advantage Game Shop, is slated to include costume and trivia contests, food and drink, cash bar, and various other surprises along the way,” said event co-chair and theater board member Maureen Hozempa.

“We even have What the Fork food truck stopping by with dinner specials available for our attendees.”

“Little Theatre’s building was originally a movie house that was converted to a stage theater in 1956, but the riggings and the big screen are still present,” according to event co-chair John Dawe, a member of the theater’s community advisory board.

“When we learned the rights to the past four Marvel films featuring Captain America were available, we secured them right away. It’s a great tie-in with the next film in the series being released the next Thursday.”

Additional sponsors include The Game Chateau Board Game Café & Coffee Lounge, Dawe Consulting, and What the Fork.
