After covering two days last year, NEPA Scene returned to tackle all three days of the 2017 XPoNential Music Festival in Camden, New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia, home of award-winning radio station WXPN 88.5 FM, the curators of the festival.
From Friday, July 28 through Sunday, July 30, the family-friendly event was held for the 13th year outdoors at Wiggins Park and the fifth year indoors at the adjacent BB&T Pavilion, featuring new and popular returning acts. Over 25,000 music fans attend XPN Fest annually to see indie, folk, blues, and soul rock headliners as well as new and notable bands heard on the member-supported University of Pennsylvania radio station and its highly recommended website The Key, which supports local music in the Philly area every day.
On Day 2, we photographed The Dove & The Wolf, Xenia Rubinos, Foxygen, The Suffers, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dave Hause & The Mermaid, Rhiannon Giddens, Strand of Oaks (who has some Northeastern Pennsylvania connections), and Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, along with some posed and candid moments taken throughout the weekend. See the photos from Friday here and Sunday here.
