SHELTER SUNDAY: Meet Chocolate (Lab/chow chow mix) and Sampson (black cat)
Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.
Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.
Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.
We cannot believe our boy Chocolate is still here at the shelter!
This handsome guy is a Labrador/chow chow mix who is around 8 years old.
He gets along with other dogs and would love an adult-only home to spend his golden years in. He likes to go for walks, runs, and trips to the park, as well as just relax.
He would do best in a lower traffic home, as he has been tossed around quite a bit, so he needs some time to get used to new people now.
Someone adopt this fuzzy Chocolate bear!
Sampson is a 4-year-old black cat waiting patiently for his forever home.
He is sweet and affectionate.
If you are interested in adopting this little guy, please note that he is living in a foster home, not on the Blue Chip campus, so fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
