The Scranton Comedy Club is returning in a new location in 2020, offering special ticket deals for its first show back with local and regional comics.

Over the years, the Scranton Comedy Club and owner Kevin Lepka have hosted shows in downtown Scranton locations like the Ritz Theater, Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, and the second floor of Tequila (now the AV Restaurant & Lounge) as well as the Ramada Inn in Clarks Summit. The club will make its debut at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn Scranton East in Dunmore on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.

This stand-up comedy show will feature New York City comedian Janice Messitte, New Jersey comic Rey Gibbs, and Scranton’s own Will “Half & Half” Robbins, with Lepka serving as the host.

Messitte has appeared on Comedy Central, “Conan O’Brien,” and “David Letterman” and produces the hit show “One Funny Broad on Broadway;” she’s also “known for a spot-on impression of Joan Rivers.” Gibbs was seen on Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” on Comedy Central and performs at comedy clubs around the country. Robbins has opened for Kevin Hart and Tracy Morgan and is the author of two books, “Ice” and “The Big Payback.”

Doors at the Holiday Inn Scranton East (200 Tigue St., Dunmore) open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Dinner and drinks will be available.

Tickets, which are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, are on sale now via Eventbrite. The first 20 sales can buy two tickets for $20, and there is a special group rate of 11 tickets for $100. For reservations, call 570-357-2693.

Shows at the club will be headlined by nationally touring comedians who play at clubs, casinos, resorts, and colleges across the country and have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, Netflix, “Last Comic Standing,” “America’s Got Talent,” SiriusXM, Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, MTV, VH1, BET, and more. Local and up-and-coming comedians will be featured as well.

The Scranton Comedy Club will also host an open mic every Wednesday night for comedians of all experience levels to work on their material. Sign-ups are at 7:30 p.m., and the mic starts at 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Scranton-based comedian, actor, and producer Kevin Lepka has many years of experience as a stand-up comedian, host, and sketch comedy/improv performer in all types of venues in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and beyond. He founded Laugh Out Lepkas Comedy to bring comedians like Gilbert Gottfried, Artie Lange, Rich Vos, the Reverend Bob Levy, Jessimae Peluso, and even the WWE’s Honky Tonk Man to the area in addition to his Scranton Comedy Club shows.

The club will offer a no-cost way for nonprofit groups to raise money for their organizations through ticket sales. Those who are interested can email Lepka at laughoutlepkascomedy@gmail.com.
