Wrestlers face off in live ‘Electric City Showdown’ at Marketplace at Steamtown in Scranton on May 14

This week, High Tension Wrestling announced that it will present a live professional wrestling event, dubbed the “Electric City Showdown,” at The Marketplace at Steamtown in downtown Scranton on Saturday, May 14.

The show, which will also be streaming live on Independent Wrestling TV, will feature former WWE talent Jayson Anthony Paul (JTG), former TNA Knockout Angelina Love, and ECW Originals Nunzio, HC Loc, and Angel Orsini, as well as some of the best talent from the independent pro wrestling scene, including Scranton natives.

Johnny Moran, Mint Mike Mitchell, Eric Pinhat, Adena Steele, Stan Stylez, Mary Elizabeth, Tommy Vecs, Riley Shepard, Brad DeMaio, “Philly” Mike Swanson, The Mastodon, Kit Raff, Coach Raff, Shea McCoy, Weber Hatfield, Sonny Defarge, Mister Crummels, Big Dust, Big Dan Champion, Dustin Waller, Kylon King, Saber Dorado, Myles Millennium, Robb Radke, “Honey Badger” Ryan Mooney, and Killian McMurphy are all set to appear.

Doors at The Marketplace at Steamtown (300 Lackawanna Ave., Scranton) open at 6 p.m., and bell time is 7 p.m.

Tickets, which are $20 for general admission (seating is first come, first served) and $25 for the first two rows (guaranteed seating), are on sale now via Eventbrite. A $10 VIP add-on includes early entry, a collectible item, raffle entry, and 20 percent off HTW merchandise.

Before the show, a free fan experience will be held at The Marketplace from noon-4 p.m. Activities include talent meet and greets, a wrestling trivia contest, and more.

The Electric City Showdown will serve as the debut of High Tension Wrestling, a new East Coast wrestling promotion in the tri-state area with “the intention of presenting high-intensity wrestling action with characters you can invest in and stories you will remember while utilizing the best of the up-and-coming wrestlers on the independent scene.” Owned by Alex Watt (The Killa-Watt) and “The Maestro” Anderson Scott, HTW showcases an eclectic array of wrestling styles from all around the world that are fun, entertaining, and creative. They produced the show “Camp Leapfrog,” which can be seen on IWTV.
