When someone says, ‘There’s nothing to do in NEPA,’ show them this video

Over the summer, Wilkes-Barre-based creative marketing company Coal Creative asked its interns to find out what there is to do in Northeastern Pennsylvania. When they, in turn, asked their friends for ideas, the common response was that, “There’s nothing to do in NEPA,” which is something local residents seem to say way too often. The resulting video they produced proves that wrong in many fun ways.

Places, events, and groups featured include Montage Mountain, Sky Zone, Drawma Club, the Houdini Museum, the Wilkes-Barre farmers’ market, Heat, Kirby Park, the F.M. Kirby Center, the Crimson Lion, the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, the Wilkes-Barre YMCA, Susquehanna Brewing Co., Lahey Family Fun Park, The Woodlands Inn, Venomous Crossfit, the NEPA Philharmonic, Rich’s Golf Center, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Gaslight Theatre Company, Harvey’s Lake, Mind/Body Wellness with Dana, Grand Slam Wrestling, Chacko’s Family Bowling, Riot Circus, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders, D A S H Fitness Studio, Northeast Eagle Distributors events, Ale Mary’s, the Wilkes-Barre Public Square car and bike cruises, and the Garden Drive-In – and that only scratches the surface of what Northeastern Pennsylvania has to offer.

That’s why Coal Creative is now asking people to share this video and include something that they like to do in NEPA as part of their ongoing NEPA Challenge. Just join the NEPA Influencers Facebook group and comment on the video and share your response on social media using #NEPAchallenge. The challenges encourage participants to “spread positivity throughout NEPA’s social network universe, using action to create change in a creative way.”
