MMA fighter Matt ‘The Hammer’ Hamill offers self-defense, anti-bullying tips in Scranton on June 6

Matt “The Hammer” Hamill will visit the Lackawanna College Student Union (500 Jefferson Ave., Scranton) on Saturday, June 6 for a day filled with activities, ranging from an anti-bullying and self-defense demonstration to a screening of the movie inspired by his life, “The Hammer.”

Hamill is a deaf American amateur wrestler and MMA fighter and a three-time NCAA Wrestling Division III National Champion in the late 1990s. He now travels the world, visiting schools and attending corporate events, sharing his real life experiences in and out of the octagon and showing that with dedication, desire, and drive, nothing can keep you from following your dreams and becoming a champion.

Tickets are $50 for an all-day pass that includes a self-defense demonstration; a lunch with Matt and viewing party for “The Hammer;’ and a motivational presentation, question-and-answer follow-up, and autograph session. Lunch will not be provided, but concessions are available.

Fans may also wish to purchase single tickets for $15 for the lunch and viewing party; $20 for the speech, Q&A, and autograph session; or $30 for the self-defense demo. Tickets are available through the college’s website or www.eventbrite.com by searching for Matt “The Hammer” Hamill.
