Breaking Benjamin scores their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with ‘Dark Before Dawn’

Breaking Benjamin‘s new hit single may be called “Failure,” but the band is celebrating their biggest success yet.

Billboard posted today that the Wilkes-Barre rock group’s first studio album in six years has hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making last week their best sales week to date.

Dark Before Dawn” sold 141,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 28, according to Nielsen Music, with 135,000 being pure album sales.

Previously, their highest charting album, 2006’s “Phobia,” peaked at No. 2, while their last album, 2009’s “Dear Agony,” hit No. 4.

“Failure” is the band’s third No. 1 song on Mainstream Rock Songs and is currently in its eighth week at the top of that list, surpassing their previous record of seven weeks at No. 1 with 2007’s “Breath.” Watch their latest music video for the track below:

Topping sales from artists like Tori Kelly and Kacey Musgraves last week, “Dark Before Dawn” is frontman Benjamin Burnley’s first album with the new band lineup that debuted in September. The group is the first rock act on Hollywood Records to score a No. 1 album; it is the label’s 12th No. 1 album overall.
