From a press release:

National Macaroni and Cheese Day is July 14, but you don’t have to wait until the summer to enjoy copious amounts of cheesy pasta – Binghamton’s first-ever Mac & Cheese Fest will be held on Thursday, April 28 from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

The Binghamton Philharmonic wants patrons to come hungry to an “all you can taste” event at the Holiday Inn Binghamton (2-8 Hawley St., Binghamton, New York). That’s right – be prepared for a full night of mouth-watering, deliciously cheesy dishes prepared by participating Broome County restaurants.

Wasn’t it the best when your mother made you mac and cheese on a snowy day or when you made the blue box with your college roommates after studying all night? Well, local restaurants will be putting their own spin on an American favorite by seeing who can create the best mac and cheese in Broome County. This will be a competition, and awards will be given out to the winners, so make your vote count.

Tickets, which are $25 for adults and $5 for children 18 and under, can be ordered online at binghamtonphilharmonic.org or by calling 607-723-3931. Proceeds benefit the Binghamton Philharmonic.

With each purchase of an adult ticket, those 21 years of age or older will receive five “beer tasting” tickets to try samples from local breweries.

For more information on the festival, see the Facebook event page or contact Katie Barlow, patron services manager, at 607-723-3931.
