Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Freckles

Freckles is a 14-year-old springer spaniel. She loves to go for walks and most of all wants a place to feel loved for the rest of her life.

Freckles was left by her family because she has some special needs now that she is older. She is hard of hearing, partially blind, has arthritis in her back legs, and has trouble making it out to go to the bathroom all the time. But she is completely aware she is in need of compassion, and the loyalty she is able to still give in return makes it worthwhile.

Logan

Logan is a 9 week old gray striped kitten. He is super sweet, silly, and will make you laugh with his playful moves.

Please note that all kittens are kept in foster homes, not on the Blue Chip campus, so call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
