Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge teams up with NEPA Scene every week for Shelter Sunday, a post that features dogs, cats, and occasionally some surprises up for adoption in the hopes of finding them a loving home.

Blue Chip Farm (974 Lockville Rd., Dallas) is a no-kill shelter, a place where no animal is too old or too unwanted to find a warm bed, good food and, most of all, love. Their mission is to provide a sanctuary where older, stray, abandoned, sick, or abused animals can wait to be adopted or simply live out their lives in safety and peace.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon-5 p.m. Other hours are available by appointment. Call 570-333-5265 or visit bcfanimalrefuge.org for more information.

Diesel

Diesel is a 10-year-old yellow Labrador retriever. His owner is moving and he can’t go with her, so he needs a new permanent home to live out his senior years.

He loves being around people and is very good with kids. While he gets along with other dogs, he would probably do best as the only dog in the house. He hasn’t been around cats before.

Diesel enjoys swimming and recently had fun walking around the Luzerne County Fall Festival, as shown in these pictures.

He doesn’t like to be alone a lot, so someone who is home more often than not would be perfect for this sweet guy.

Fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and give Diesel your love!

April

April is a lovely 3-year-old striped tabby cat with green eyes and a winning personality.

She is sweet and likes to make sure everyone is OK, so she checks on them before settling into a nap. She is a talker and a snuggler.

April likes other cats, does not know about dogs, and she loves people… and treats.

She would make a great companion cat, so if you would like to make her yours, fill out an application at bcfanimalrefuge.org and call 570-333-5265 ahead of time to arrange a meet and greet.
