From a press release:

Raid your closet and pull out your leg warmers, acid-wash jeans, scrunchies, and neon windbreakers because The Marketplace at Steamtown in downtown Scranton is about to go back to the 1980s and ’90s with a totally radical assortment of activities, local vendors, food, and live music.

Shop Small Steamtown: Throwback will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15 from noon-5 p.m. on the second floor of the former Steamtown Mall. Activities will include:

Mall Madness Scavenger Hunt: Join Electric City Escape as you complete their rendition of Mall Madness, Milton Bradley’s talking shopping spree board game. Your favorite teen sleepover game comes to life as you dash across the Marketplace shopping for shoes… err, searching for clues. There’s a “sale at the Steamtown Mall” during this Throwback event.

Jazzercise in Center Court: Put on your neon spandex workout clothes and bedazzled sweatbands because Crunch Fitness is going to make you sweat. Their instructors will be leading Marketplace patrons on a journey through Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda-inspired workouts, complete with your favorite ’80 and ’90s tunes. Warm up in center court at 11:30 a.m. with a 30-minute workout beginning at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Retro Arcade: Slurp down that slushie and head over to Nick D’s Video Game Vault to play “Pac-Man,” “Asteroids,” and “Skee-Ball.” Take the High Score Challenge on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. The store’s RetroVerse Lounge is always playing ’80s and ’90s cartoons and movies, with retro arcade games and consoles like the NES, Atari 2600, and PlayStation 2 ready to enjoy.

Strangers Things Trivia: Center City Wine Cellar is taking fans into the Upside Down for trivia from the hit Netflix series. Things get strange at 5 p.m. on Saturday night. Show up in your best Hawkins-inspired cosplay for this 21+ event.

Adult Lisa Frank Coloring: It wouldn’t be a ’90s-themed party without a little Lisa Frank. Page after page of happy dolphins and dancing pandas are sure to brighten anyone’s day. Join Center City Wine Cellar for rainbows, wine, and washable makers on Sunday for this 21+ event.

Throwback Movies: Get ready for nostalgia in high def with “Back to the Future” and “Dirty Dancing” on the big screen. Cosmic Cinemas will be playing these $1 retro features from Friday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 19, so check cosmiccinemas.com for showtimes.

DIY Slap Bracelets: Bee’s Backyard will be taking us back in time to the days of everyone’s favorite piece of statement jewelry. Bring your old Lisa Frank stickers and do some ’80s and ’90s sticker trading with your new friends after you create the slap bracelet of your dreams. The New Kids on the Block will surely notice how cool you look after designing that bracelet. All ages are welcome.

Retro Board Games: Grab a slice with the family and settle down for a rousing game of “Guess Who?” or “Sorry!” There are so many games to choose from that you may need a whole pie instead of that slice. Located on tables in front of the Scranton Public Market, these games are fun for the whole family and free to play.

Live Music: Find your way over to the SPM lounge and listen to Dakota “Doc” Lawler, Liam Alone, Paul Martin, and Jeff Lewis as they do what they do best, with a little ’80s and ’90s flavor mixed in.

Horror Movie Double Feature: The NEPA Horror Film Festival will present a free double feature on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. Fans of “Creepshow” and “Tales from the Crypt” will love “The Final Ride,” a three-part tale with a mix of scares and laughs. Stay if you dare for “Artik,” a chilling tale of family, games, and gore. Plus, horror fans can get $10 pre-sale tickets (regularly $14) to the NEPA Horror Film Festival at the Circle Drive-In in Dickson City on Sunday, Oct. 13. These screenings are 18+.
