At solo bassist Grant Williams’ early release party for his debut album, “Suspended Animation,” on Friday, Oct. 14, his longtime friends in Behind the Grey opened the night with something they’ve never attempted in their four years as a band – a stripped-down acoustic set.

As their new singer Dom Vito noted, it was quite the adjustment for the high-energy metal band to scale things back and not tear up the stage of Thirst T’s Bar & Grill in Olyphant, but the Scranton rockers (minus drummer Mike Boniewicz) still found a solid groove with three guitars, reminiscent of Sevendust’s famous acoustic shows.

The setlist featured a good portion of their debut full-length album, “Through the Grip of Tyrants,” along with a new song called “Euphoria.” NEPA Scene captured the entire set on video, along with plenty of photos.

Behind the Grey setlist, Oct. 14, 2016, Thirst T’s in Olyphant:

Nobody Knows the Centerfold
Learning to Breathe
The Perfect Storm
The Crack Inside
Through the Grip of Tyrants/The Colors of You
H
Euphoria
Out of Focus
