New Homegrown Music Concerts season begins May 31 on WVIA-TV, features Bog Swing Group, Tauk, and more

WVIA-TV’s “Homegrown Music Concerts” will air an all-new season beginning on Thursday, March 31.

Recorded at WVIA Public Media Studios in Pittston, the six episode series airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. on WVIA-TV. The season premiere features the television debut of jazz ensemble The Tom Hamilton Band. Other acts included in the series are the folk family trio The Currys; jazz trio Tri-Fi; Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Django Reinhardt-inspired Bog Swing Group; Organik Vibe Trio, which features Marko Marcinko, Ron Oswanski, and The Rolling Stones’ saxophonist Tim Ries; and prog rock jam band powerhouse Tauk.

Each hour-long episode will re-air Saturday nights at 11 p.m. on WVIA-TV and can also be watched on-demand at wvia.org/homegrown.

April 21: Tri-Fi
May 5: Bog Swing Group
May 12: Organik Vibe Trio
May 26: Tauk

Homegrown Music Concerts have been produced for over 40 years by George Graham and presents a wide range of rock, folk, bluegrass, jazz, blues, reggae, world music, fusion, etc. The emphasis is on all-original material or highly original interpretations of old, obscure, or seldom-heard music.

Each show features a different performance, with occasional encore broadcasts from the series’ nearly 40-year archive.
