On April 13, the same day that his former band, Breaking Benjamin, released their new album, Northeastern Pennsylvania rock singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Fink put out his next solo album via Woodhenge Records and is set to play a release show at the new downtown Wilkes-Barre music venue Karl Hall later this month.

Recorded at SI Studios in Old Forge, “Wolves & Butterflies” is Fink’s fourth album in four years, following up “Galaxies,” “Heavy Feathers,” and “Saint Sylvania” by blending “melodic rock with clever instrumentation, bold guitar solos, and intriguing lyrics,” according to his website. It is available digitally on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, SoundCloud, and YouTube, while physical copies can be purchased on CD Baby, aaronfink.net, and locally at Gallery of Sound stores. A limited edition vinyl version will also be available soon.

The prolific musician not only played guitar on the first four albums of multi-platinum rock band Breaking Benjamin, he also performed in Lifer, Strangers with Candy, Stardog Champion, The Badlees, and Gentleman East over the years. He has since taken on practically every instrument for his solo project and explained his creative process and current artistic inspiration in his EPK video by Scranton filmmaker Kenny Luck.

“Stuff is just flowing right now. I’m not going to turn off the tap. Without sounding corny, I’m in it for all the right reasons. I’m just being super creative and doing all this stuff,” Fink said.

“Maybe I’m making too much music or not enough… I’m having fun and I’m doing something that I feel is earthy and real and artistic, I guess, for lack of a better term.”

Fink will be joined by his live band, the Fury, at the “Wolves & Butterflies” release show at Karl Hall (57 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre) on Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. Jordan Ramirez of Half Dollar and Fake Fight will open the show, which is BYOB.
