New musical Scranton Fringe play ‘Light & Sound’ comes to Cooperage in Honesdale Nov. 30-Dec. 1

The New Vintage Ensemble will once again partner with The Cooperage Project in Honesdale to present an original play that debuted at the 2018 Scranton Fringe Festival.
“Light & Sound,” created and performed by Conor Kelly O’Brien and Daniel Amedee, will be presented on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m.
Originally premiering at the Scranton Fringe Festival in September, this original hybrid of live music and theatrical performance tells the story of a father and son taking a long-delayed road trip while dealing with the father’s late stage dementia. Equally heartwarming and haunting, “Light & Sound” combines live music, theatrical staging, and digital projection to craft a unique experience for its audiences.
Co-created and starring New Orleans musician Daniel Amedee and New Vintage Ensemble member Conor Kelly O’Brien, this production is the final installment of the ensemble’s 2018 programming and marks their third season in a partnership between the Scranton-based ensemble and the Honesdale nonprofit.
Amedee has been touring full-time since 2012 and has performed all over the United States, Canada, Ireland, and England. He has been fortunate enough to work with industry notables such as Noel Hogan (The Cranberries), Pat Spurgeon (Rogue Wave), and Sylvain Carton (Beats Antique), to name a few.
“We’re thrilled to offer theater at The Cooperage as part of our programming,” said Ryanne Jennings, executive director of The Cooperage Project. “The New Vintage Ensemble is an amazing group of talented individuals, and this production is one you won’t want to miss!”
Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 advance or $15 at the door to support The Cooperage Project’s continued educational programming.
