A huge soundscape filled the small space of The Susquehanna Tavern in Exeter on Friday, Feb. 12, artfully crafted by Philadelphia trio Flyermile and local post-rock group Tired Army.
Organized by Shows by Sam, the free concert began with an acoustic set by Hughestown singer/songwriter Your Pal Frank (not pictured) before Tired Army played their first show in over a year. The Kingston instrumental band is currently working on their debut album, and if it’s anything like their performance that night, it’s sure to transport listeners far from Northeastern Pennsylvania and into the stratosphere.
Flyermile is a relatively new project from drummer Steve Clifford of Circa Survive, and while their music has similarly strong driving rhythms and subtle complexity, it is definitively its own jammy, progressive animal with softer songs that paired well with the sonic journey that Tired Army began.
