The theme of the 2019 Clarks Summit Festival of Ice is “Ice Wars,” a frozen take on “Star Wars,” but if that’s not enough science fiction fantasy for the Abingtons, the annual event will host an Ice Wars Comic Con at Clarks Summit Elementary School on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17.

Promoted by Isle of Comics in Williamsport and the Abington Business & Professional Association, the convention will feature comic book artists, writers, creators, vendors, professional wrestlers, athletes, cosplayers, door prizes, panels, and more.

Clarks Summit will be sprinkled with “Star Wars” memorabilia as well as detailed ice sculptures of familiar franchise characters, so fans can walk around town (or ride their Tauntauns) and enjoy the festival before or after the convention at Clarks Summit Elementary (401 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit), which runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Feb. 16 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Feb. 17.

Special guests include Tony Atlas (WWF/WWE pro wrestler and bodybuilder), Chris Kotsopoulos (New York Rangers/Toronto Maple Leafs hockey player), Andrew “The Reinforcer” Anderson (pro wrestler and “Gotham” actor), and Jessica Felice (actress and “Vampirella vs. Reanimator” cosplay cover model), along with comic book artists and creators Bob McLeod (“New Mutants,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “The Legion of Super Heroes,” “Detective Comics,” “Wonder Woman,” “Star Wars”), Mark McKenna (“Iron Man,” “Spider-Man,” “Batman,” “Justice League”), Dan Parent (Archie Comics, “Felix the Cat,” “Barbie,” “Disney Adventures”) Scott Beatty (“Batgirl,” “Robin,” “Batman,” “Star Wars,” ToyFare magazine), Chris Ring (“Carbon Knight,” “The Perfect Victim,” “Nevermore,” “The Scariest Creature”), Tom Derenick (“Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Secret Six,” “Superman/Wonder Woman,” “Teen Titans,” “Ultimate X-Men”), and Darren Auck (“Hulk vs. Thing,” “Ren & Stimpy,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “What If…”).

The international “Star Wars” fan and cosplay group 501st Legion will also be in attendance, so expect to see stormtroopers and many other iconic characters walking around.

Admission is $10 for one day or $15 for both days. Kids 12 and under are free, and VIP passes will be available soon. A full schedule of events is listed below.
